tag

  • A tag is a label that hangs from an article for sale. It has information about the item and/or the price.

  • A tag can also be the label sewn into an article of clothing that includes the marker’s name, size of the clothing and possibly a list of the materials in the clothing(cotton, linen, acrylic, etc)

  • Tag is also a game palyed by chasing someone to try to “tag” them (touch them) and say “you’re it!”

  • Tag football is a game of football played by tagging the person who has the ball rather than tackling them.

  • A tab can be a running account of money owed to a business, like at a bar, or a store. The bartender of clerk might ask the customer: “Are you payingin cash, or shall I puth it your tab?”

When you say, “I’ll pick up the tab,” it means you will pay the bill or check (usually at a cafe, restaurant, bar, etc.)

  • A tab can also be the spacing from one column to the next. There is a key on the computer (or typewriter) that moves your typing to the next position set by your tab.

  • A tab can be a small flap, strap, loop, or similar appendage used for pulling, hanging, or decoration. (Can also be called a tag)

  • There is also a soft drink called “TaB”.

  • A tab is a small piece of material that sticks out from something like a notebook to mark and open it to a particular place in the book or to label the top of a file folder.
